Our Story
Glorify the Name of Jesus International Church is a Gospel-centered church born from a deep conviction to glorify Jesus in every area of life and to see people become more like Him.
What began as a small gathering of faithful believers has grown into a church family with two active branches — Hayat 49 and Gelan — serving families, children, and communities with the love of Christ.
We are a growing community where people can encounter Christ, worship, pray, learn, serve, and grow together. We are not a perfect church; we are a faithful one — people who have experienced God’s grace and desire to share it with others.
Glorify the Name of Jesus International Church is a recognized member of the Ethiopian Council of Gospel Believers’ Churches (Registration No. 08405), in accordance with Proclamation No. 1208/2020.
At the heart of who we are is the desire to be more than a place of worship — to be a home for those who were once wandering; a place to belong, grow, learn, and look out for one another as we seek to reflect Christ and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
Our Vision
Empowering the body of Christ with courage, humility, and a passion to glorify Jesus Christ.
We envision a church where every member is equipped to live boldly for Christ — not just on Sundays, but in their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods. A church that prays with confidence, serves with humility, and worships with sincerity.
Our Mission
To glorify Jesus Christ through faithful worship, prayerful community, biblical teaching, and loving service — building a family where every person can encounter God, grow in faith, and walk in purpose.
Core Values
Faithfulness to Scripture
We believe God's Word is alive and trustworthy. It shapes how we live, worship, and serve.
Prayer that Strengthens
Prayer is the heartbeat of our church. We come before God together, trusting Him with every need.
Sincere Worship
We worship not to perform, but to encounter God. Our worship is Spirit-led, heartfelt, and reverent.
Warm Hospitality
Every person who walks through our doors should feel seen, valued, and genuinely welcome.
Compassionate Service
We serve others not out of obligation, but because we have experienced the generous love of Christ.
Community Impact
The church exists not only for itself but for the world around it. We seek to be a blessing in our neighborhoods.
What We Believe
Glorify the Name of Jesus International Church is built upon the timeless truths of the Gospel. Our foundational beliefs guide our worship, ministry, and life together.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible (the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, serving as our supreme guide for faith, doctrine, and daily living.
The Holy Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct Persons — the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit — equal in power, glory, and divine essence.
Jesus Christ the Lord
We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross for human sin, bodily resurrection, and ascension into heaven. Above all, we believe that Jesus Christ is the sole mediator between humanity and God the Father.
Salvation by Grace
We believe salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through personal faith in Jesus Christ alone, by which believers are forgiven, justified, and born again unto eternal life.
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to establish His everlasting Kingdom.
The Church & Spiritual Ministry
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to worship God, preach the Gospel to all nations, and serve humanity in love.
Our Journey
-
The Vision Takes Root
Glorify the Name of Jesus International Church began from a vision Prophet Netsanet Belayneh believed God had placed upon his heart—a calling to serve the Gospel and proclaim the name of Jesus to this generation.
-
The Beginning — Gerji
The church first began in Gerji, where the vision took root and the ministry began to grow through prayer, Gospel preaching, prophecy, and service.
-
A Season of Growth — Gelan
As the ministry continued to grow, Gelan became part of the church’s journey. During this season, the ministry continued reaching people, building its community, and developing the vision God had placed before it.
-
From Gerji to Hayat
Over time, the Gerji congregation transitioned to Hayat, marking a new chapter in the church’s journey. What began in Gerji continued in Hayat, carrying the same faith, vision, and commitment to the Gospel into a new season.
-
Two Branches, One Vision
Today, Glorify the Name of Jesus International Church continues through its Hayat and Gelan branches, serving their communities while remaining united by one Gospel-centered vision.
-
The Journey Continues
Through prayer, prophecy, Gospel preaching, baptism, deliverance ministry, and outreach beyond Ethiopia, the church continues to carry its calling forward—seeking to reach this generation with the message of Jesus Christ.
From the beginning in Gerji, through the season of Gelan, to the transition of the Gerji congregation into Hayat, the journey continues—with one purpose at the heart of it all: to glorify the name of Jesus.
Leadership & Visionary Journey
Our church is led by servant-hearted leaders committed to glorifying Jesus Christ in all things. Below is the background and personal testimony of our Visionary Leadership, reflecting the spiritual calling that birthed this ministry.
Prophet Netsanet Belayneh
Rooted in personal testimony, prayer intercession, and faithful service before entering full-time public ministry.
Personal Testimony & Calling
Every movement of faith begins in quiet obedience. Before stepping into full-time official ministry, Prophet Netsanet Belayneh was shaped through years of dedicated personal prayer, family altar gatherings, and a profound testimony of God's transforming grace.
What started as a deep conviction to see lives restored in Christ led to home prayer fellowships, which eventually blossomed into the establishment of the Gelan branch and subsequently the Hayat 49 branch in Addis Ababa.
"We serve not out of human ambition, but out of gratitude for what Christ has done. Our story is simply a reflection of His unmerited mercy."
